Since June 2014, every employee has the statutory right to request flexible working after 26 weeks’ continuous service. This will give you a statutory basis for asking to work from home for at least some of the time. Your request should:
- be in writing;
- state that it is a statutory request to work flexibly;
- state the change you want and the date you want to start from; and
- explain what effect if any you think the change will have on your employer and how you think this could be dealt with.
