Will I get paid leave for urgent family reasons and other periods of special leave?

You have no statutory right to be paid when taking either parental leave or dependants' leave.

Some employers will pay part or all of an employee's wages for this type of leave. If they do, the arrangements will probably be set out in the employee's contract of employment or in a staff handbook.
