How soon after I start with a new employer can I use my annual leave?
You should be able to take leave almost straight away.
However, your employer can make rules prohibiting leave during certain times of the year. Your employer can also insist on a notice period for leave that is twice as long as the time that you have requested.
In addition, your employer may require you to wait until you have worked enough days to build up your holiday entitlement. For example, if you have only been in the job one month, you may only be allowed to take one twelfth of your annual holiday allowance until you have worked longer to save up enough leave.
