Should my employer buy me a desk fan to help me deal with the heat?
Fans can help in some cases, but above 27°C they are ineffective at cooling the air. Opening a window is often more useful than fans, although that is not possible in all cases.
A better solution might be air conditioning. In addition, you can look at asking your employer to provide portable air-cooling cabinets, which may reduce the air temperature by up to 6°C.
If your employer does get a fan, the electrics must be regularly checked.
