How else can unions help?

Some unions now offer members general health and safety helplines, or specialist helplines on specific issues, such as bullying. Contact details for unions can be found in the workSMART Union Finder.

If you are not a union member, why not think about joining? Union fees can cost as little as 25p a week. For example, the Unite union's weekly rate is just 50p for people out of work, in further education or working less than ten hours per week. For part-time workers, it is £1.63 per week, and full-time workers pay £3.25 per week.
