What should my employer do to help me further?

Your employer is legally obliged to make 'reasonable adjustments' to enable you to return to work. What may be considered reasonable adjustments depends on your particular case. 

Obtain your organisation's written procedures (if any) on supporting people with a disability.

You must be fully involved in every stage of the decision as to what, if any, changes are needed to enable you to carry on working.

Adjustments can be temporary or permanent, and should be kept under review to make sure they are working and to manage any new problems that may emerge – such as any adverse impact of the changes on co-workers.

Many employers prepare a written return-to-work agreement with their employees as the basis of a return to work.

Reasonable adjustments can include training in any new role, or refreshing your skills.
