I want to bring a tribunal claim because my employer picked on me after I 'blew the whistle' about poor health and safety practices where I work. Must I engage in Acas early conciliation?

Acas early conciliation applies in all kinds of tribunal claim – including whistleblowing claims. The only exception is a claim for interim relief.

This means that if you want to bring a whistleblowing claim, you must submit a completed Acas Early Conciliation Notification Form within the time limit for bringing your claim. However, although you must submit this form, you do not have to actively participate in the conciliation process if you don't want to. Neither does your employer.
