How much tax and National Insurance should I be paying?
Confused by your income tax and National Insurance? Our calculator will give you an indication of what you should be paying (based on the Inland Revenue's figures for the financial year 2012/13). Obviously we'd have to make you fill out a full tax form for an authoritative answer on this, but for most people in normal circumstances, this should give you a pretty good picture.
There are special extra tax allowances for older people, blind people or older married couples, which are not taken into account here. There are also a wide range of different allowances in relation to National Insurance for different types of workers, though most should be covered by this calculator's assumptions. To find more on this, visit the Inland Revenue website.
