Do homeworkers qualify for universal credit?

Homeworkers’ rights to qualify for Universal Credit are the same as those of other workers.

Universal Credit has largely replaced previous benefits such as Working Tax Credit, Income Support and Job Seekers’ Allowance, that people on low incomes could claim.

You can find out about how to apply for Universal Credit from Citizens’ Advice. Three national charities – Turn2Us, Policy in Practice, and Entitledto – offer Benefits Calculators to help you work out approximately what you are entitled to.
It is very important to keep a record of all work done, time taken to carry out the work and wages paid to you. Also try to keep a record of any work-related expenses.
