Can my employer make me retire even if I don't want to?

It depends whether there is a contractual retirement age in place where you work. Even if there is, your employer must be able to justify that contractual retirement age objectively.

The law no longer allows your employer to force you to retire at 65, or any other age, unless there is a contractual retirement age in place where you work, capable of objective justification based on conditions where you work.
