What happens if I make a mistake on my Acas early conciliation form?

You must take care when filling in your Acas Early Conciliation Notification Form, just as you must with any other form in the tribunal process, such as your Form ET1 (the Form used when you issue your tribunal claim). If you make a mistake, this can lead to your claim being rejected.

And you can bet that your employer will seize on your mistake to argue that you should not be allowed to continue with your claim. Even if the tribunal doesn't agree, you will have wasted money on legal costs and caused yourself extra stress and worry – and you may even be ordered to pay your employer's legal costs that resulted from your mistake if a tribunal thinks that you weren’t paying close enough attention.
