You have the right to return to the same job that you were in before the parental leave period, but if it is not reasonably practicable for your employer to keep your job open over this period, your employer must offer you suitable alternative employment.
This can be with your employer or with an associated employer. This includes an employer which has taken over a company from your original employer. The job must be similar to your previous job and on no less favourable terms and conditions and with your seniority and pension unaffected.
