This depends on how much leave is left after the mother or adopter has taken all the maternity or adoption leave they want to take from their 52-week entitlement. The maximum amount of Shared Parental Leave is 50 weeks because mothers and adopters must take a minimum of two weeks’ maternity or adoption leave.
