I am a single parent. Can I share my maternity leave with my mum?

Not at the moment. Maternity leave can only be shared with the other parent that shares parental responsibility for the child, that is to say, the child’s father or your partner. A proposal to extend shared parental leave to working grandparents originally timetabled for 2018, has been shelved pending a review of the shared parental leave regime.
