When should I be paid?

Wages are usually paid on a monthly basis for salaried employees and weekly for people who are paid by the hour. Some employers may pay on a different basis, say every two weeks or every two months. Whatever the frequency of payment, it must be specified in a written statement of particulars, which should be given to employees within two months of starting work.

You should be told of any change in when or how frequently you will be paid (e.g. monthly, weekly, etc.) within one month of the change.
