Apprenticeships offer the chance to earn a salary while obtaining training in the skills employers want. They also offer excellent career progression opportunities and increased future earning potential. Apprentices are entitled to paid holiday and benefit from the chance to learn at a pace suited to the individual, supported by a mentor.
All apprenticeships include elements of on the job and off the job training, leading to industry-recognised standards or qualifications. Some apprenticeships require an assessment at the end of the programme, to test the apprentice`s ability and competence in their job role.
To find out more about apprentices, visit the government website Get in Go far and the Apprenticeships section of the TUC Unionlearn website.
